My Hopes For 2025

I am definitely having some jitters about leaving my job. I am so excited for the freedom, but a part of me is really going to miss my apartment and New York. Living here has been such a dream. This is the first apartment I have truly loved and felt like home in. I love the beat and pulse of New York City (what a cliche, right?). But I am so heartbroken at having to leave my apartment. I even thought about renegotiating my contract with my current job and went through the entire process of creating a plan to possibly stay in my current position. But a part of me knows that is not the right step. Sure, I'll get to stay in my apartment and continue my life here, but there is no growth in that. I have to accept the fact that I am stagnant in this job and there will be no opportunities to grow as both a professional and a person. This job is suffocating me and I am unable to live my life because of it. Hell, I haven't even gone on a date in over 5 years. I don't even look pre...

First Snow Day 2024

Today was the first snow day of the season. They had initially predicted 5-7 inches of snow but luckily we only had 1 inch or so stick to the ground, with the rest being rain. I had some ferry passes to use up before they expire next week so I decided to venture out to the Seaport to get some hot chocolate, shop around, and do some reading.

Truly decadent hot chocolate from the T Cafe. Very thick rich European chocolate, but I wish it had a marshmallow to complete the cocoa. Nevertheless, it was delicious! I picked up some whole wheat sourdough bread from the week from their bakery. It was extremely fresh and only $8 for a big round loaf. It's so rare finding whole wheat sourdough bread especially at that price these days! I did some reading, people watched a little, and decided to venture back home before the snow really started hitting.

Snow on the pier. The picture doesn't capture the beauty of the skyline. There was a little dusting of snow to the ground but thankfully not enough to create terrible traffic conditions.

Today was a nice cozy Saturday afternoon. I relaxed this morning, went to Seaport, cleaned my apartment, and now I'm writing this by the candle fire while watching Eat, Love, Pray. Work was tough this week but it's nice to have quiet, calm moments like these to cherish.
