First off let me say that Blogger has come a really long way since about 5 years ago when I last used it for my other blog. It's infinitely easier to customize a theme -- no more fudging around with HTML pretending to know what in the world I'm doing. All I have to do is just hit a drop down arrow and voila, I can change anything I want in each theme!
Today's Self-Care Tuesday (yes that's what I'm dubbing it) composed of a nice little cozy adventure. Yes, get used to me saying cozy all the time. Winter = cozy.
Usually on Tuesdays, I like to explore my neighborhood. Just walk around and check out the different shops, cafes, and restaurants.
Today I decided to go to this one coffee shop about 1/2 mile walk from my apartment that I had pinned on my Google Maps -- Adda Coffee & Tea House.
I decided to try the brown butter vanilla scone -- the name just sounds cozy and rolls off the tongue, so of course it's the title of this blog -- along with a latte. The scone was one of the best ones I've ever tasted in my life. Just the perfect sweetness and paired so well with the latte, which was also very well made.
Whilst enjoying my treats, I decided to start Christmas shopping and making my Christmas gift list. I absolutely hate gift shopping - I'm horrible at it - but I managed to pick out a few things for my friends and family. And of course managed to put in $400 worth of stuff I definitely did not need in my Kohl's online shopping cart.
After a lovely afternoon at Adda, I decided to come home and finally just tackle my Christmas tree. It's so funny - I love putting up my Christmas tree, but I also hate it because it just takes so damn long and can get so cumbersome.
How long did this tree take?
Four frustrating hours -- because this is the first year I decided to put ribbon on my tree and boy was it a pain in the behind.
First I tried to add some loops of ribbon, which looked horrible.
Then I decided to curl the ribbon and hang it -- also a disaster.
Finally I just gave up and decided to sway the ribbon like sashes along the tree, and it looks decent. Not glamorous like in the magazines but not bad for a $80 artificial Christmas tree!
